About the Area

Situated in Eastern Kings County, Shoreside Cottage is located in Eglington on the southern side of the Fortune community. The area is rich with beautiful scenery and a fresh ocean breeze is always present ensuring your time here will be a memorable one. The white sand beaches in the area offer seclusion from the land by trees and sand dunes, and the bays are sheltered by large red cliffs. The Fortune community was the inspiration for Johnny Belinda by American playwright Elmer Harris, whose summer home is now the Inn at Bay Fortune.

The area has many parks and trails within a short distance, including Greenwich, Basin Head, Red Point, and Sally's Beach. The area also hosts outdoor and indoor concerts and ceilidhs featuring local performers of all ages. For culinary delights in the area, treat yourself to one of the local Lobster Suppers, or try the menu at The Inn at Bay Fortune or The Sheltered Harbour Cafe, both located only minutes away.

Shoreside Cottage is also only a 25 minute drive to The Links at Crowbush Cove, Dundarave, and Brudenell golf courses and only 10 minutes to Rollo Bay Greens.
